Four hosts are up~
There’s a lot more and/or a lot less going on than what meets the eye. Just glad to have the other big host reloaded & rejoined. I need to figure out it’s storage.
20240829
Had to redact a different view for work

I’ve sorted out storage on the second host, just getting another TrueNAS going to manage it.
20240830

Fix growing pains with storage and getting a host to update properly.
Installed Zabbix

…yeah, it’s just the demo appliance ISO on Alma but it’s a start.
20240831
Two weeks of Homelab 100

I switched over to the new soho router that’s been sidecar for a long time. Updated everything, reasonable config, added a few tricks.

A bit jank at the moment but now I have AX wireless and a decent AP for the other side of the house.
I’m glad I thought this would be cop-out project and it took hours to actually pull off.
20240901
Cleaned up/set up better usernames & passwords on all routers and switches. Updated all their firmware.

20240902
Back into Mtk. Console navigation, tips & cheats, Webfig.

Resumed fooling around with diagrams.net as well.
20240903
Fast-tracking a bit of Mtk study since i want to get to the bigger concepts quickly. Backups, console, reset, etc… having fun then fun got funner when Mtk Discord made me aware that Linux-native Winbox had dropped.

20240904, Day 18
Had fun reading about CHRs and Proxmox, began uniting the two but that project is bigger than an hour I think.
Read about versioning and was disappointed I hadn’t brought everything up to 7. Oh well

Mtk bootloader docs, licensing and resetting is interesting reading but skimming it as I kind of need a goof-around switch with a serial connection going and also haven’t managed to break anything that badly yet.
Mtk docs are finally into IPv4 & 6 which is maybe review after all the Network+ stuff but i’m not above skimming it. Meanwhile, logged into Zabbix and it’d crawled the subnet. Need to circle back to that.
20240805, Day 19
I circled back to the Mtk Cloud Hosted Router install which was a fun combo of converting importing .qcow images and troubleshooting Mtk router booting (hint: download the correct image file).

I had a nice time creating the biggest router on the block.

20240906, Day 20
Reconnected more disks to hosts, imported zpools and started scrubs.

Taking stock of what storage is used up and what’s free. Going to be a bit of a shell game for a while. Meanwhile a vendor sent me a MikroTik sticker :}
